I'm a boring 42 year old wife and mom in rural Arkansas with a passion for my newest hobbies, digital photography and blogging. We just moved here two weeks ago from Ohio to start a new life and I feel the need to document our new experiences here through pictures and writings so here I am. I have never written a blog before but I have wanted to do it for some time. I've just been too busy reading, other blogs. I'm hooked. They're like soaps, I just have to see what's said or done next.
I have been married for nearly 13 years and I have been a mom for nearly 4. My husband Shawn and I met in 1992 at Ford Motor Co. We both worked at an assembly plant in Ohio. My son Lucian (Luke) will be 4 in January and he means the world to Shawn and I.
The thing about living here in the countryside is how I find everything so interesting, charming and gorgeous. I'm from the city, born and raised and we moved (my family) a lot when I was a kid, roughly every two years. I also traveled around a lot when I was in the military and kept close quarters in the barracks so I adapt easily to new environments. My husband Shawn though - not so much. He was raised semi-rurally and has few friends or aquaintance, he's a loner who REQUIRES solitude and privacy. We live a quiet life of early retirement (his not mine) - Shawn retired from Ford in 2006 and I have been in college since 2005. My newest career should begin in a year or so when I finish my degree but already I have had many different jobs including the military (Air Force) and Ford. It's nice to not have to work for a while and concentrate on school and hobbies and just being present.
I hope to come here often and post pics of my new surroundings and the things about the south that fascinate me as a northerner.
